Quinten Bossche is the 2026 UIM-ABP Aquabike Ski GP1 World Champion. The Belgian sealed the title at the Regione Sardegna Grand Prix of Italy in Olbia, Sardinia, closing a season in which he won every Moto he entered.
A perfect campaign, settled before the last race
Bossche carried a 31-point lead into the Olbia finale, so the title was mathematically his before the closing Moto even began. The win still came on the water, race by race, across a weekend that drew 160 riders from 27 nations to the final round.
He set the tone on Friday, taking pole in choppy seas with a lap of 1:36.457. In Saturday's opening Moto he took the holeshot and built a lead of more than ten seconds by the third lap, winning by 53.716 seconds over Alec Enderli. Jeremy Poret, who had missed qualifying with engine trouble, charged from the back to finish seventh.
From the back of the grid to the front
An engine change then forced Bossche to give up pole and start from the back, and he sat eighth after the opening lap. Enderli had inherited pole and led ahead of Mattias Reinnas and Raphael Maurin, while Bossche climbed to sixth by the second lap. He passed Poret and Soshi Sato for fourth, took Enderli for third, reached second by lap seven and passed Reinnas for the lead a lap later.
Sunday brought clear skies and glaring sun. In the final Moto 3 Bossche again took the holeshot and led from start to finish. Poret ran second behind him, and Reinnas claimed third after Sato fell on lap seven and could not restart.
A title regained, nine years on
The crown completes a long arc. Bossche was Ski GP1 World Champion in 2017, with Kevin Reiterer second that year. In 2026 he had swept the opening World round in Shanghai and won every Moto of the European Championship before reaching Olbia.
Olbia, described as the spiritual home of the sport, was a fitting place to finish it. For Bossche, a season without a single lost Moto now stands complete.
