Vitória Fernandes defended her women’s singles title at the Foot Table World Championship in Rome, defeating Colombia’s Laura Gomez in the final at Colle Oppio Park. The Brazilian’s victory on 4 October 2026 gave her a second consecutive world crown and sealed a clean sweep of all five categories for Brazil.

Gold beneath the Colosseum

Fernandes arrived ranked World No. 1 in both singles and doubles, holding 2,000 points and a 200-point lead over Hungary’s Acs Krisztina, the recently crowned European champion.

When the podium was confirmed, Fernandes stood on the top step, Gomez took silver, and Krisztina shared bronze with Poland’s Aga Zmudzka.

Two worlds, one reign

Fernandes became the first player to win both women’s titles at the inaugural 2025 world championship. In Rome she repeated that double, partnering Ester Viana to beat Gomez and Susana Ramirez for the women’s doubles gold.

Earlier in 2026 she left the Copa America in Lima undefeated across both disciplines, beating Mexico’s Linda Robert in the singles final.

A nation on top

Fernandes’s singles gold was Brazil’s fifth world title of the championship. Pedro Henrique Martins won the men’s singles, Rodrigo Medeiros and Matheus Ferraz took the men’s doubles, and Martins returned with Patricia Nardy to claim the mixed crown.
