With three world-level titles sealed inside a single season, Guo Pu stands alone in the WDSF record books. The Shandong native, known as B-Girl Royal, helped Team China to 3vs3 gold at the 2026 WDSF World Breaking Championships in Chengdu on 13 September, becoming the most decorated athlete the federation has recorded in one year.
A family final, decided with a lion dance
The Chengbei Gymnasium drew over a thousand fans for breaking’s first official 3v3 mixed-team World Championship. That set up an all-China gold-medal match against Dancing for Love Team, a lineup that included Royal’s own sister, and the home crew closed it with a clean 3-0 victory.
The routine that decided the title was built on a motif no one had brought to an international stage before: a lion dance. Captain Shang Xiaoyu told reporters the team deliberately wove the Chinese ritual into their final choreography. “We boldly showed Chinese elements on the final stage,” he said, “and we believe the judges and audience were both stunned.”
