Wendy Oosterwoud secured the Women’s Elite overall crown in the 2026 Gravelking UCI Gravel World Series, compiling 2,145 points from 15 races and finishing 615 points clear of her nearest rival.

Racing two 54 km laps around Voergaard Castle on wet, technical terrain, she crossed the line third, 1:25 behind solo winner Romy Kasper. That podium finish delivered the points that put the overall mathematically beyond reach with weeks of the record 47-event calendar still to run.

From runner-up to ruler

Oosterwoud had finished second in the same series a year earlier. Nicole Frain of Australia ended the campaign second on 1,630 points, with Kasper third on 1,520.

A quiet pursuit of consistency

She told reporters afterwards that the overall ranking was never an explicit target. “After finishing second last year, of course you want to try again. But honestly, it wasn’t really a goal in itself — my focus was on achieving strong results in UCI races throughout the year.”

Oosterwoud called her campaign “a very steady season.”

The championship wraps up with the UCI Gravel World Championships in Nannup, Western Australia — the first held outside Europe. Oosterwoud has never raced in Australia. The series is already hers, whatever comes next.
