Robin Goomes made history in the Utah desert on 8 October, winning her third consecutive women's Red Bull Rampage title with a decisive second run of 93.50 points. The New Zealander edged Hannah Bergemann by just 0.75 points to become the first rider in the event's history to claim three straight victories.
A duel decided on the final run
The 2026 women's final returned to the original Rampage venue, the mountain where the contest began in 2001. Bergemann led after the opening round with 91.25 points, her fast run putting Goomes into second on 90.62.
That first run was no failure. Goomes landed the first-ever flat spin by a woman in competition, threw two backflips and a no-footer, and still trailed by just 0.63 points. On the sport's biggest stage, the defending champion had to find another level.
A flawless response under pressure
On her second run, despite building wind, Goomes delivered a ride the judges could not fault. She doubled down on her trick list: a no-footer, another flat spin, a backflip, a suicide no-hander, and a backflip one-foot can, all stitched together with relentless flow.
Bergemann answered with a score of 92.75, an improvement of 1.50 points, but it left her short. Goomes's 93.50 reclaimed the lead and sealed the win, with Kirsten Van Horne taking third on 86.50.
"It means the world, aye. I'm so lost for words," Goomes said afterwards. "Me and Hannah seem to have these battles every year so, she's keeping me pushing."
Three titles, one record
Goomes won the inaugural women's Rampage in 2024 with an 85-point run and defended the title in 2025 by just 0.17 points against Bergemann. Her third straight crown is a feat no other rider has matched. Alongside the title, she collected the People's Choice Award and the Utah Sports Commission Best Trick Award for the flat spin, a trick she had landed for the first time only the night before.
Goomes rode in a mushroom-covered kit, a tribute to their shared love of foraging in the New Zealand bush.
