On 12 August 2026, Olympic skateboarder Danny León timed an aerial to the exact moment of totality during Spain's first solar eclipse in 27 years. The image — board, body and blackened sun in one frame — passed 120 million views within 24 hours.
A 30-second window, three attempts
The feat took place on a private estate in Novales, Huesca. A ramp was built to match the sun's path. Totality offered barely 30 seconds, and León used it for three maneuvers. One caught the full occultation, though wind and darkness arrived at the decisive moment.
A seven-person crew filmed from roughly 400 metres away with telephoto lenses. The trick was not his hardest. Synchronising body, board, camera and the fleeting sky was the real challenge.
